Overview
Two new source codes are joining our existing SSA, STA, and OBT codes: PRO for probate filings and IST for institutional sources. A source code tells you exactly where a decedent record was verified, so this gives you more visibility into how each match was confirmed.
Value / Impact to You
These sources sit outside the SSA Death Master File, state vital records, and obituaries—meaning they surface confirmed deaths these other sources can’t reach. You may see an increase in decedents identified across your file, with the same verification standards you rely on today.

New death-data sources become available all the time, and we evaluate each one against our verification standards before adding it to our process. This is ongoing work, not a single release. We add sources as they prove out.

Overview
BeneSearch for Client Import only available to CertiCensus clients at this time, a clear summary of every deceased individual you have submitted for a search, so you can see results at a glance and easily import them into your database.
Participant Export Report: a downloadable, participant-level results file built for reconciling against your own internal systems.

Both reports put answers directly in your hands. Instead of requesting a custom export from your CSM and waiting on a turnaround, you can pull the data yourself the moment you need it.

BeneSearch® now checks publicly available probate filings as an additional verification source, helping confirm beneficiary status and next-of-kin information whenever probate records exist.

We know sharing Social Security Numbers makes many clients uneasy, even when it’s necessary for a thorough audit. CertiDeath®, No SSNs removes that requirement entirely so you get validated death audit results without transmitting an SSN.

The SSA Death Master File has been losing coverage since 2011 and today captures only around 16% of deaths, leaving a widening gap for any organization that relies on it. BerwynDMF closes that gap, delivering more than four times the coverage of the SSA’s Limited Access Death Master File, in the identical file layout you already use.
